Ms. Elizabeth Vlattas

Ms. Vlattas began her teaching career in 2020 at John F. Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School in Somers, NY. During her six years at Kennedy, she taught Regents Biology, Pre-AP Biology, and AP Biology.

She also moderated the Philosophy Club and the Young Medical Club. She joined the Notre Dame High School community in 2026 as a member of the Science Department and currently teaches Science 8, Regents Earth and Space Science, and AP Environmental Science. She also moderates the Climate Club.

For Ms. Vlattas, teaching science is meaningful because it describes and explains the wonder of the world around us. By making observations about the natural world, students are able to ask their own questions and discover their own answers. Those moments are what make science “click,” and she is motivated and inspired by the opportunity to facilitate those learning experiences.
