Mrs. Warner began her teaching career at Notre Dame High School in 2001. Her first career after college was a Manufacturing Process Engineer followed by a Manufacturing Supervisor at Westinghouse IGTD. She then “retired” to raise a family. A return to the work force began with a LOT of volunteering at the schools attended by her three children which led to an opportunity to run the before school program at Holy Family Primary for a year. Mrs. Warner met the legendary Sr Carmella of Notre Dame in study skills while fulfilling her parent volunteer obligation. She truly enjoyed helping students with math and science. Thanks to Sr Carmella’s faith in her and a recommendation to Sr Mary Walter, Mrs. Warner was offered a position teaching math at ND.
Following graduation from Onteora High School in Boiceville NY, Mrs. Warner's education continued with an attempt at Albany Medical Center School of Nursing. After seeking advice from her former high school guidance counselor, she enrolled at Ulster County Community College where she discovered a love of chemistry and earned an AAS. This was followed with a BS in Chemistry at Mansfield State Teachers College. Moral of the story: Things change and never say never…Mrs. Warner did not like Chemistry in high school!
Mrs. Warner lives in Troy, PA, with her husband of over 37 years. Their three children attended NDHS; Ben (Class of 2004) is now a heavy equipment mechanic and truck driver; and twins (Class of 2010): Carolyn is a Certified Nurse Aide and Todd became a wind turbine technician following his service in the US Marines. Mr. and Mrs. Warner have three grandchildren, Liam, Lucas, and Logan. She and her husband Scott feel truly blessed to have all of their children and grandchildren living near home where they are an important part of each other’s' lives.
