ABOUT CASTLE LEARNING
Castle Learning is a K-12 resource which provides core testing content using a variety of formats. Instant grading, detailed assessment reports, and instructional feedback are benefits that save time and improve academic success. This web-based tool is used for supporting classroom instruction, homework assignments, common assessments and self-generated student practice. Alignment to the New York State Common Core standards provides the necessary data analysis to assist administrators, teachers and parents in assisting all students in meeting both state and national standards. All Notre Dame students in grades 7-12 and their families have access to Castle Learning.
Notre Dame High School began using Castle Learning for classroom instruction, remediation and enrichment purposes in various content areas, on a trial basis, in the spring of 2013. The feedback the school received regarding the program and its abilities was so overwhelmingly positive that the school entered into a formal contract with Castle Learning beginning September 1, 2013.
HOW IT WORKS
At the start of each school year, every Notre Dame student is provided with a log-in and password. Parents are to use this same log-in and password to access their student’s account.
Not only may students be assigned work on Castle Learning by their classroom teacher, but they may individually supplement assigned work through sequenced activities built upon the precepts of mastery learning. Additionally, student remediation is individualized via Castle Learning and work for each student is designed to address personal areas of deficiency.
